American Legion Presents West Brookfield Branch with New Flag

On Friday, May 14, the American Legion Post 244 presented North Brookfield Savings Bank’s West Brookfield branch with a brand new American flag. The West Brookfield branch and the American Legion Post 244 are located next to one another, making them community neighbors.

“It is wonderful to have organizations within a community help each other out,” said Mary Antinovitch, branch manager. “We are very thankful for the Post’s generosity!”


Renee Jurczyk has been hired as senior teller at the Gilbert Street branch of North Brookfield Savings Bank. Renee, with her 24 years of banking experience and in-depth knowledge of teller functions, will oversee the teller line, open and service accounts, and assist customers with their banking needs. Before coming to North Brookfield Savings Bank, she was most recently the assistant branch manager of FamilyFirst’s East Brookfield branch. Renee resides in Hardwick with her husband, Philip, and her three children.




North Brookfield Savings Bank recently welcomed Myles Proe, who joins the Bank as a financial analyst. Proe, who resides in Millis, MA, graduated from Salve Regina University in 2010 with a B.S. in Economics/Finance and worked as an intern at Wells Fargo Advisors in Newport, RI. In his new position, he will analyze financial statements for commercial and residential loans, help devise strategies for the Bank’s investment portfolio, and underwrite residential mortgages.

“I am honored and excited to have found such a great institution at which to start my career. I look forward to making a difference here, giving 110%, and helping to bring success to the communities we serve and to North Brookfield Savings Bank.”


North Brookfield Savings Bank recently announced the promotion of Margaret I. (Peggy) Carr to the position of senior vice president and Human Resources Director.

Peggy began her banking career when she joined North Brookfield Savings Bank in 1987. Over the years, she held positions with a wide range of responsibilities within the growing community bank. In 2001, she was named Assistant Vice President of Human Resources and in 2005 she was promoted to vice president.

“For 23 years, Peggy has been a valuable asset to North Brookfield Savings Bank. For her efforts, growth, professionalism, expertise, and many other qualities, Peggy is very deserving of this promotion,” said Donna Boulanger, president and chief executive officer of North Brookfield Savings Bank. “She has contributed to the success of the Bank and should be commended for her many accomplishments.”

Carr has held several leadership positions with the Quaboag Hills Chamber of Commerce, including Chairperson of the Board of Directors. She is active in several charitable and community organizations, most notably in her efforts to raise funds for the Baystate Mary Lane Hospital Cancer Center. She spends many hours each year fundraising and organizing her team for the annual Walk of Champions. Peggy, who grew up in North Brookfield, now lives in Warren with her husband, Greg.


North Brookfield Savings Bank receives Community Involvement Award from Brookfield Lions Club

The Brookfield Lions Club held its annual Melvin Jones – Joseph J. Camarda banquet to recognize businesses and individuals whose efforts benefit the local community. North Brookfield Savings Bank was one of the distinguished recipients of the Joseph J. Camarda award, based on the bank’s long history of community involvement and charitable giving.

“We are honored to be presented with the Community Involvement Award,” said Bank President, Donna Boulanger. “The Bank’s mission statement, philosophy, and charitable giving priorities all reflect a responsibility and commitment to serve the community at every level. We have always been committed to improving our local communities.”

North Brookfield Savings Bank also encourages their employees to volunteer and be involved in the communities in which they live and work. Recently, a team organized by North Brookfield Savings Bank HR Director and Senior Vice President Peggy Carr participated in the Baystate Mary Lane Hospital Walk of Champions. The “Cancer Crushers” team, which included many bank employees, raised over $2,400 for the cause.


North Brookfield Savings Bank Assists Quaboag Valley CDC Renovation Project

The “Social Services Complex” envisioned by the Quaboag Valley Community Development Corporation has become a reality. Over the last five years, North Brookfield Savings Bank donated $25,000 to the QVCDC to assist them in the renovation and maintenance of the building at 23 West Main Street, Ware.

The Social Services Complex now houses the QVCDC, the Ware Adult Learning Center, and Valley Human Services (a division of Carson Center). It is projected that over 300 low and moderate income families will benefit each year from programs and services that are provided by these non-profit organizations.


North Brookfield Savings Bank is pleased to announce that Mark LaMountain has rejoined the Bank as a loan officer. LaMountain, a graduate of Bryant College and the American Institute of Banking, was most recently a vice president at Commonwealth National Bank and is also a former lending officer and vice president of North Brookfield Savings Bank.

"We are very pleased to have Mark LaMountain return as part of the loan center team at North Brookfield Savings Bank. He provides us with a vast amount of banking and customer service experience and we are confident that our customers will enjoy working with him,” said Donna Boulanger, president and chief executive officer of North Brookfield Savings Bank.

LaMountain is an active member of the Brookfield Rotary Club, Quaboag Hills Chamber of Commerce, and the Central MA South Chamber and has lived with his wife, Sonia, in Worcester, MA for the past 28 years. He enjoys golf and working on various projects around the house.

“NBSB is a great banking institution serving central Massachusetts and has developed a product line that fits most everyone’s needs. The commitment to teamwork and delivering consistently good service are proven strengths of the bank. It’s great to be back,” said LaMountain.


Warren Izyk has been promoted to senior teller of the Belchertown branch. Izyk, who started with North Brookfield Savings Bank as a part-time teller in Belchertown, took on positions of increasing responsibility over the years. As senior teller he will oversee the teller line, open accounts, and have an in-depth knowledge of all teller functions. Warren is a resident of Belchertown.







Student Fun Night Event


Pam Weeks, Belchertown Branch Manager, presents Nintendo Wii to lucky winner Kara Nietupski and her sister, Elizabeth.

Kara Nietupski was the lucky winner of the Nintendo Wii, thanks to Kara's attendance at the recent Student Fun Night event that was held at the Belchertown branch. Dozens of kids ranging in age from 2 to 15 attended to see the magic of Jonas Toutant and to learn more about the value of saving money. Each child who attended was entered into the drawing for the sought-after Wii. This was the first in a series of planned events designed to help kids learn basic money management skills.


Headquarters Renovations at 35 Summer Street Are Now Complete



Renovation and construction at the Summer Street location is now complete! The new headquarters building houses the Bank’s executive officers, its Operations and Accounting departments, and the loan officers and staff from the Loan Center.

The North Brookfield retail branch, which had also been located at Summer Street, was relocated in December 2008 to its current location at the Hannaford Plaza at 9 Gilbert Street, North Brookfield.
